"I want it to become known that that Attorney General's Office offers the best training an attorney can obtain, anywhere in this state. - Former Attorney General John J. Farmer, Jr.

Welcome

The New Jersey Attorney General’s Advocacy Institute was established to enhance the administration of justice in the State, and ensure the attorneys representing governmental entities maintain the highest degree of professionalism. The Advocacy Institute offers a broad range of programs to address the needs of public sector attorneys, including deputies attorney general, assistant prosecutors, municipal prosecutors and those who represent other governmental entities. Moreover, the Advocacy Institute serves as a clearing house for Best Practices, and is responsible for producing handbooks and practice manuals for use within the Department of Law & Public Safety.

The Advocacy Institute primarily offers programs in Trenton and Newark, depending on the type of program being offered, and facility availability. The Advocacy Institute is an accredited New Jersey and Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) provider. Accordingly, as an added benefit, attorneys attending Advocacy Institute programs may earn credits toward their New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania CLE requirements, and toward their New Jersey trial certification requirements.
